Hey guys... This poem written by Felix Lugo and it describes water flowing down a mountain peak. But can that be the whole meaning behind it? I think each person can come up with different opinions on what he is portraying using the mountain/water. Do you still remember metaphors?
tata for now! ~Jessica C.
Mountain Peak
We came together on the highest mountain
on this earth.
As years went by we separated into rivers
from the tears this mountain cried.
We all fell into different rivers flowing though
forests, rocks, and waterfalls.
No matter what season we came across
we continued flowing.
We are rivers that started in the mountains,
and rivers that separated as we went
through
many waterfalls.
Sometimes we travel together,
and other times we travel alone.
Always remember that these same rivers
that travel many miles through the earth
are once again together when it reaches its
final destination
the “Ocean”
So, rivers that started up high in the
mountains
and then separated are unitedagain
as a family.

oo i like this poem. the first things that popped into my mind were lovers. i think this could be a metaphor for 2 people that maybe once had a very close relationship, but fell apart after time. though they explored different paths in their lives, they couldn't help but "always remember these same rivers". ultimately, these 2 people are destined to reunite once again.
this is just one interpretation. i'm sure there are many other. but this poem appears very sweet to me.
